He was born in Nogent- le-Rotrud, France, in 1841. He studied medicine and toured Europe, Asia, and North Africa. He was interested in psychiatry and produced a group of influential studies on group behavior, popular culture, and means of influencing the masses, which made his research a basic reference in psychology and for media researchers in the first half of the twentieth century

He was known as one of the most famous Western philosophers who did justice to the Arab nation and Islamic civilization. He did not follow the approach of European historians who have made it a tradition to deny the favor of Islam to the Western world. However, Le Bon, who traveled in the Islamic world and had social studies on it, acknowledged that Muslims were the ones who civilized Europe. He saw the need to revive the golden age of the Arabs from its slumber and show it to the world in its true form. In 1884, he wrote the book “The Civilization of the Arabs,” which collected the elements of Arab civilization and its influence on the world. He researched the reasons for its greatness and decline and presented it to the world as a debtor who owes a favor to his creditor. He died in Marne- la-Coquet , France, in 1931
